I've just replaced an interior door with a new thinner one, and had to pack out the frame with 10mmx15mm wood strip. after cutting to rough size, the strip was glued and tacked in place, then it needed shaving down to the level of the existing jamb. After trying various power tools with limited success, I used my Stanley 64 spokeshave. Adjusted to a fine cut, it made short work of removing the excess wood, leaving a near paint-ready finish. It gets within 10mm of corners, and was quicker and more precise than any of my power tools. With simple adjustment and a sharp blade, this small job renewed my admiration for the quality spokeshave.
