Tool-NET Ltd is committed to treating the environment with consideration and
respect, particularly in the way it affects our staff, our customers and the
local communities in which we operate.
Hazardous Waste
The company's day to day business does not produce any hazardous waste.
Disposal of old batteries does represent a hazard, so we invite our customers
to return their old batteries to us. We then send them to our manufacturing
suppliers for safe and correct disposal.
General Waste Disposal
Our staff are encouraged to re-use paper whenever possible. Paper waste is
saved and collected by contractors for recycling.
Other waste is stored in safe bins provided by contractors. These are regularly
collected for controlled disposal of the waste in accordance with the Environmental
Protection Act 1990.
We undertake to keep the immediate vicinity around our branches clean and safe.
Packaging
It is our policy not to buy in materials for packaging the products we send
to our customers but to re-use material from deliveries made to us. In this
way we reduce the overall burden of waste to a minimum.
Company Vehicles
We require all our staff to drive in accordance with Highway Code while on
company business.
Our vehicles are maintained regularly to provide safe driving with maximum
fuel economy and minimum pollution.
Suppliers
We prefer to deal with suppliers who reflect our own respect and consideration
for the environment.
